Learning to ripple was my first choice for a new year's project. I found a great tutorial here at Attic 24. If you're looking to learn to ripple, I can't recommend this tutorial enough. It includes a standard written pattern in addition to photos and explanations of how the pattern should work.
The pattern recommended that I make a small sample size before starting a full-sized project, so I chained 115 stitches and got to work!
The first few rows took some time, but once I got the hang of the pattern things went quickly. I crocheted until I ran out of pink yarn, which was left over from another project.
The piece I crocheted was too small for a blanket or scarf, so I thought it would be cute to fold and stuff it and make it a pillow for my sofa!
Once I ran out of pink yarn, I did two more rows of grey yarn and then SC the top and bottom rows together. I turned the piece inside out and stuffed it, then whipstitched the side together.
Voila! A sample-sized learning project becomes a new accessory for my sofa. Next up: a full sized ripple blanket!
