For Mother's Day this year, I wanted to create something to brighten up the homes of the ladies who raised me. Real flowers are expensive to ship and don't last long enough to offset the cost.
I was already using a Lion Brand crochet flower pattern to make big flowers for a friend's graduation present. I decided to use the smallest flower size listed in the patten to make bouquets!
Pattern: http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/chs-rosettes.html?iP=1
To make my bouquets, you will need:
Yarn colors of your choosing (I used blues, pinks, yellow, purple, and green)
Pipe cleaners
Make flowers (I made six), stitch together. Loop one pipe cleaner through each flower and twist ends up so your Mom won't get stabbed with metal!
Wrap stems together with green yarn, tie off and use a needle to slip the green yarn end under the wrap.
Voila! Flowers!
The best part about these flower bouquets is that I could mail them in a standard bubble mailing envelope, and let the recipients fluff them upon arrival.
