Every tree needs a star! Mine just isn't at the top.
In my quest to decorate my tree with all handmade ornaments, I stumbled across this cute star pattern from Habitual Homebody. The stars crochet very quickly- even faster if you choose not to block them!
My favorite part is that the unblocked stars look like starfish! Who wouldn't want a whimsical sea creature on their tree?

![]() I didn't make my tree topper, but he's too cute not to share! My grandma sent me an assortment of hand-knit finger puppets and this Santa was truly the tops (see what I did there?). He fit perfectly on my skinny tree. I wish I knew who made this cute guy and his friends- little projects like this are a ton of work! I found a pattern for snowflakes at Attic24, one of my favorite crochet blogs. I really like the step-by-step instructions accompanied by photos. Also helpful is that the pattern tells you how to make two sizes of snowflakes, both pictured above. |
