This hat was a gift for Skylar's first Valentine's Day. It's the same hat as Genevieve's Hat from the last post, except smaller and made with variegated yarn by Loops and Threads. Little Miss Skylar looks cute enough to eat!
This hat started as a Christmas gift, then was meant for Valentine's Day, and eventually was a slightly tardy first birthday gift (I sometimes have a problem with procrastination, especially when the post office is involved!). G's hat is pink, with a crochet heart (see crochet heart headband post for a link to the pattern). It looks especially stylish with her red hair, and was crocheted using Vanna's Choice yarn in Dusty Rose. I love making items for new babies, so when my friend Becca's daughter Ava Lynn was on the way, there was no question that I should make more booties! I used the same pattern I created for Violet's Ugg Boots (see the post here: http://www.kbeeknits.com/1/category/baby%20booties/1.html), with white yarn soles and pink and white variegated yarn uppers. I used cotton yarn and a size H crochet hook to create the booties, and plastic buttons to keep them on Ava's feet. |
