Happy New Year! My resolution as a knitter is a simple one: update this blog more frequently! I've completed a lot of fun projects in the six months since my last post and I look forward to sharing them this year! I plan to post 365 knit and crochet projects, one per day of the year. Happy knitting and crocheting! Let's call this the "candy corn bag"!
While on Pinterest, I stumbled upon this pattern for a market bag. The pattern allows the crocheter to decide how wide and tall the bag will be. Rather than following the pattern for the straps, I chained 100, connected the chain to the other side, and did three single crochet rows back and forth. I find that this way of making straps leads to less use-related sag over time. Below are photos of the bag in progress: For the first birthdays of Violet and Genevieve, I made owl dolls from a great pattern that can be found here.
Violet's owl has legs and follows the pattern as written. For Genevieve's owl I made wings instead of legs. I think the wings look more bird-like, and they are so much easier to crochet than the legs. My cousin Violet is a fashionable little lady. For her first winter, I made her a pair of "baby uggs" so she could stay warm and look as cool as her big sisters.
